Hypertrophic Scar
Hypertrophic scar is the deformation of skin that occurs after the healing of the traumatized skin. It is the structural condition of skin that disturbs people with its elevated, red, and abnormal look.
What is Keloid?
It is also an unwanted condition that occurs on the skin after a trauma or surgery. The excessive tissue enlargement in wound causes an unpleasant view.
How is Scar/Keloid Treated?
Different methods may be used for the treatment of scar and Keloid. Based on the condition of the scar, a cream or medication can be applied. Besides, recently developed Laser technology is also used for the treatment of Hypertrophic Scar.
The scar tissue does not require any biopsy. Clinical findings under the observation of a Dermatologist is sufficient for diagnosis.
The treatment process of Hypertrophic Scar usually takes a long time.
Difference Between Hypertrophic Scar and Keloid
Hypertrophic Scar and Keloid may be occasionally confused as they display similar features. While Hypertrophic Scar is reversed throughout the treatment process, Keloid does not heal despite the treatment.
